Any thoughts on how to approach a situation of unemployment due to a mental health issue?  An event occurred that shook me up pretty bad and I identified that too my employer (state of Maryland), specifically stating that I was not able to be at work and as a result was quickly thereafter given the option to resign or be fired.  I am going to apply for unemployment insurance but fear that if I explain the reason why I was forced to resign I will be marked for doom.  Additionally, I am apprehensive about how to approach the coming job application and interviews as my references are now tainted due to the situation.  Any input from you would be appreciated, as you are an outside the box point individual.
